Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin has partnered with Dell to implement the Reconnect program – a program where residents can donate any brand of computer equipment in any condition and just about anything that can be attached to a computer, FREE OF CHARGE. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.

A list of specific items that can be accepted and other information may be found at www.goodwillscwi.org. Goodwill asks that:

·          If you are donating a hard drive, back up any valuable information and erase sensitive data before dropping it off. If you want to completely erase the hard drive, you can find a number of free services available online. Dell and Goodwill Industries do not accept liability for lost or confidential data or software.

·          If the glass is broken on your monitor or scanner, place it in a cardboard box lined with a large plastic garbage bag. Seal the box and clearly label it with “broken monitor” or “broken scanner” and the date.

·          If you are donating software, include the license key.

Equipment may be dropped off at any attended Goodwill donation center, including the donation center located at 2496 Highway 14 East, in Richland Center (649-9456). If you have a large quantity of equipment to donate, please call your preferred donation site to schedule a donation time.

The Reconnect program is designed primarily for residential computer users. However, Goodwill will gladly accept computer equipment from businesses other than those involved with repairing or refurbishing computers or computer equipment. If you are an eligible business with five or more pieces, the equipment must be dropped off at 1302 Mendota St. on Madison’s eastside. Please call 608-246-3140 to arrange a convenient drop off time.

Reconnect is managed to both Goodwill and Dell's high standards for workplace and environmental safety. All collection and recycling practices are audited by a third party to ensure these standards are met. These standards include an absolute prohibition on the export of waste and on the landfill of any environmentally sensitive material.

Your donation generates revenue for Goodwill’s mission. Thanks to these and other donations Goodwill is helping build better communities by providing employment, housing and support for people with disabilities and other challenges.
