| When Mike drove out to Richland Center in 1993, he
was looking for support services for the Madison office.
When he got to Lone Rock, he almost turned around, but
saw it was only a little further to Richland Center, so
he kept going. Once here, he stopped at a few local
businesses, and then parked on Church Street and walked
down Court. The people he passed on the street spoke to
him and everyone he talked to was friendly. He
felt like he was right at home in his own home town in
southern Illinois when he was growing up. He saw
people conducting business on a handshake, advertising
by word-of-mouth, and paying as you go. Those were
all the good things that people like about small towns.
Mike says he really likes Richland Center, and loves
the community. Mike's wife, Lela, is an accountant in the Madison
office. His daughter, Diedre, has earned her
degree in Architecture, and his son, Michael, is a
Madison resident. |
